Pool Closure & Important Info

Saturday Closures

Due to construction occurring at the school we will be closed on Saturday 17th & Saturday 24th of this month (May).

Swimmers in Level 7 to Squad (classes 7:50 and 8:50) can elect to attend a make-up session during the week as per the policy. Please refer to the Makeup Schedule under the members tab on the website. For level 7 to Squad swimmers please advise us via text 0422331011 TODAY if you will be attending a makeup. Debits will continue.

For all other Saturday classes and levels, please note you will not be debited. Remembering we remain a week ahead so debits will cease this week and resume 16th May.

Squad (Level 12) Make-ups

Squad Swimmers enrolled for one class a week MUST stick to their allocated day. 

We provide the opportunity to attend a Make-up session if you miss your day.  However, due to recent issues related to overcrowding the only days available for Make-ups are Friday and Saturday.

A reminder that the Make-up Schedule is located under the “Members” tab on the website. It is updated at start of each month. Make sure you check the schedule before turning up to any make up sessions.

If you turn up to the pool Monday-Thursday to do a makeup session you will be unable to join in.

PLEASE NOTE: Swimmers who are enrolled for more than once a week and paying $40 weekly have unlimited access to any session Mon-Sat. The above information does not relate to you.

Caps, Goggles and Flippers.

We are concerned about children coming to lessons unprepared. Children are unable to swim without their swim caps, goggles and flippers. A reminder that these are not provided by DGSWIM and must be purchased by parents/care providers. If your child attends not ready, they will be returned to you to be swim ready.

Every swimmer needs their googles at every swim lesson/session. Like any other sport your child participates in, swimming equipment must enhance your child’s lesson. Goggles must fit correctly. Please ensure they are not too big or too small. This only impacts your child’s lesson when they are unable to see. It also impacts the other children in the class when the class is interrupted to fix your child’s goggles. When purchasing goggles please ensure the packaging indicates it is for your child’s age bracket. 

Goggles need to be set up and adjusted correctly by the parent/care provider before a child enters the class. This is not the job of the coach. This slows down the lesson and impacts other swimmers who are prepared.

If you are not present, please teach your child to put on their own cap and goggles before the class. Further, please talk to your child and ensure they don’t share their goggles with anyone that will change the strap adjustment.

Caps

All swimmers with long hair must wear a swim cap.

Other than sanitary purposes long hair gets in the eyes and mouth effecting performance.   

Swimming attire.

Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for swimming lessons. This does NOT include:

-             Bikinis

-             Long board shorts

-             Board shorts with pockets

-             Rash shirts that are not fitted.

All of the above will slow down your child’s performance and ability. They will be uncomfortable. It is important that you respect the requirement of swimming lessons and send your child in proper swimming attire.

Flippers

Flippers are required for all children in Level 6 and above. These are not provided by DGSWIM. Please check your app to check your child's level if you are not sure. Please do not attend without flippers. If you have been asked to purchase flippers, please do so before your next swim session.
